This is a re-read. Read it when I was a teenager, and it's still brilliant, two decades later! I love the slightly pompous, over confident Ellery who can learn from his mistakes. This is probably my favorite in the Ellery Queen series. Having said it, some of the tricks feel dated (but this book is ancient) so I can understand.
