The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding
by Agatha Christie
This book contains six short stories, 5 about M. Poirot and 1 about Mrs. Marple and there isn't a weak one behind them.
It all seems very easy what Christie does but she does it all so well. She sets the stage, introduces the characters, gives you a few hints, drops a murder in your lap and sends in Poirot or Marple.
It's so effective but so well done. These stories are truly timeless.
