This book seized me by the throat and crawled inside like one of Andrew's haunts. There are a lot of threads going on in this story, and Mandelo juggled and resolved all of them with an incredible amount of skill. The mystery itself was crafted in that perfect balance to keep me guessing, but where I was able to figure it out with some confidence shortly before the characters themselves did. The reveals that happened throughout the book were rewarding instead of coming off as random twists that came out of nowhere. As for the romance, it developed with a satisfying sizzle and spark throughout the story. The addition of the drag racing was a very pleasant surprise for me, personally. Overall, there was a perfect balance of horror and the sweetness of healing and community, tinged with the spice of messy, complicated humans with problems and flaws. I loved every minute and would read it again.
