The Romance Rivalry by Susan Lee
4.25
Ok so I am so obsessed with this book! A book about books is always my favorite, but this one is also about Bookstagram, which is SO much fun! Irene is a famous bookstagrammer who goes to college to build a foundation for a future in publishing—but she has bigger plans. She wants to fall in love and live out all her favorite romance book tropes!
She ends up in class with a rival bookstagrammer who decides to join her on this trope challenge and turn it into a competition. Some silly situations ensue along the way, but naturally they start falling for each other in your classic rivals-(on one side)-to-lovers scenario. Sorry if that’s a spoiler, but it’s a romance book, y’all—it’s really not a spoiler.
Usually, I don’t love stories about college-aged/early twenties characters because they tend to feel immature, and I did get a bit of that here. But the story and concept were so fun I didn’t even care one bit! The epilogue was by far my favorite part—it was so unique and different from your usual romance ending. I won’t say more… you’ll just have to read it and see for yourself!
