moniwicz 's review for:
Tender Is the Night
by F. Scott Fitzgerald
A haunting picture of the French Riviera and the tragic and human characters that play in their outwardly glamorous world.
A note: It was a choice between reading this or "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I decided on this one because I'm currently working as a doctor in my psychiatry placement and it might be a little overkill to read the latter and read about psychiatry in my free time AWAY from psychiatry. Turns out I needn't have bothered because the entire middle portion of this book was about, surprise, psychiatry.
Another note: this book was also a sober and guilt-tripping reminder about one's professional and personal responsibilities as a doctor. I consider myself duly cautioned.
