A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L'Engle
4.0

"For want of a nail the shoe was lost; for want of a shoe the horse was lost; for want of a horse the rider was lost; for want of a rider the message was lost; for want of the message the battle was lost; for want of the battle the war was lost; for want of the war the kingdom was lost; and all for the want of a horseshoe nail."

I was slightly annoyed that the adventures from The Wrinkle in Time weren't even mentioned, and hardly even hinted at. It also seemed much more serious, with very few whimsical/light-hearted scenes like the first book. Very enjoyable and imaginative, regardless. I'd be curious to see what a child would think of it, when I was having enough difficulty following the science (not that I'm overly capable of doing so).
