The Nurse
by J.A. Corrigan
I love a set up where you read about the crime first and then it takes you back to where it all begins and slowly builds to the dramatic finish.
I immediately warmed to Rose as a character even though she has been sent to prison for killing a man, after pleading guilty in court. I very much enjoyed Theo also as the writer visiting her in prison trying to find out why she did what she did and learn about her life.
I loved learning more and more about Rose with a dark sense of foreboding as we get deeper into her life.
Her love affair with Daniel Dean which burns hot, fast and lustfully. His over protective friend Ed who comes across as quite the sinister character. Her story all unfolds to Theo. And some of the twists and turns along the way are very shocking. Loved the ending very much. Well written and read really well by Daphne Kouma. I give it 4 Lucy Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
