When Spring Comes by Kevin Henkes

I was disappointed when I learned that Henkes didn't do the illustrations for this book, but then Adrienne pointed out he didn't illustrate [b:Birds|6084058|Birds|Kevin Henkes|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347844641s/6084058.jpg|6260837], either, which I love and read in storytime (same illustrator for both books). So that brought me around. This was adorable, and would be perfect for a toddler/preschool storytime about spring.

My favorite illustration was the melting snowman, because it reminds me of this particular snowman I built when I was a kid. It was small to begin with, and then I sprayed it with the hose (?) presumably so it would solidify and last longer. It was totally bizarre-looking, and ended up being this rock-hard hunk of ice that sat in my parents' backyard until April. :)
