We are back baby!! lol. I’ve thoroughly missed this world and these characters. So so so much. It wasn’t even that long ago that I finished Caught Up, but reading this one felt like coming home. And I’m throwing a SPOILER WARNING in here cuz it’s me and that’s just how I review lol.
I’m not gunna lie, after reading Caught Up I was kinda disappointed that the next book was gunna be Isaiah’s cuz I wasn’t a huge fan of him. I can’t even really put my finger on why, but I think I was just such a huge fan of Daddy Kai that Isaiah seemed like so much less. Happy to report though, that I’m now a HUGE fan of our house trained golden retriever (thanks Jessi for that image that I’ll never get rid of now lol.) Isaiah was everything in this book and I will never get over him. So much so that I’ve now got what is most likely going to be a really unpopular opinion lol; the Rhodes siblings are superior to the Shay siblings. It’s true and I’m not even sorry about it. Everything about our boy Isaiah was perfection. Everything. Even that one particular scene, I found it hot. I was shocked cuz normally I just ick over that, but he fucking owned it and I swooned so hard lol. He can seriously do no wrong.
Then there’s Kennedy…. Fucking Kennedy. Why do you have to be such a giant twat. I mean for real, what the fuck?! The number of highlights and notes I have being like “wtf bitch?!” is alarming. For someone who’s supposedly a MD, she was dumb as a fucking post. The shit this woman pulled on my baby Isaiah… ma’am we need to have words. And by words, I mean I wanna slap you. On what planet, ON WHAT PLANET do you think that you were innocent and did nothing wrong when that skeevy douche canoe was hitting on you? You were in the wrong BECAUSE you did nothing. Ugh. And honestly in what world is this woman supposedly ok with being a doctor but does shit work that’s way below her pay grade, for a chauvinist pig, for three years without doing a damn thing about it? I don’t buy it. All of that to say, Isaiah deserved a lot fucking better and I hated this chick lol.
I mean yes, she did grow on me by the end of it and there was one really big redeeming moment for her. I guess I did give a spoiler warning so imma just say it... the damn glasses!! You guys!! Gaaaawd. I can't. I don't know if it fully redeems her, but it definitely helped. And side note: can we please talk about fucking cute he is with his colourblindness?!? I was DYING for this man lol.
Ryan and Kai are still amazing and I will never stop obsessing over them. Travis and Cody totally took me by surprise and I adored them! Their banter and comedic relief was so perfect, I would read books about them for sure. But Monty... your honour, I love him. I need him. I need his book. I need 6 books in this series instead of 5! We can't end it with Rio. It's not fair and I might throw a temper tantrum lol. He IS the Baseball Von Trapp (thanks for that Jessi lol) and I just... it's not fair!!
But I am actually looking forward to Rio's book, I'm just really not ready for the series to be over haha. And despite Kennedy being the worst FMC in the series, I adored this book because everything else was perfect.
