3.5 is not a bad rating by any means but for this book I was anticipating something higher. Overall I think this just really let me down and didn’t have what I was expecting. The found family carried this book for me and without it I probably would’ve dnfed it. I didn’t like either of the main characters at all. Jaxon’s trauma and past didn’t make any sense for his character and instead felt like something that was added because he needed to have some depth. Lennon was fine at the beginning but she had some growth she needed to do and that simply never happened. I wanted to see her grow separately of her romantic relationship and I felt like that never really happened. I also felt like the progression of the relationship could’ve been done better. I felt like they said they were falling in love and they talked about having feelings for each other but it was never shown which I really didn’t like. The story felt a bit drawn out and I completely lost interest at about 80%. Also I feel like in these books the villain or the character that’s supposed to be the worst is written so basic and blandly which I don’t enjoy. Like I said I really loved the found family in this book and I enjoyed being back in this world but unfortunately this couple and their story was just not for me.
