Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World
by David Epstein
Similar structure and style to Malcolm Gladwell - a bunch of cherry-picked "did ya know" tidbits in the service of a specific narrative - but actually much better than Gladwell's vapid nonsense.
Drags on a little long by the end, and has a troubling section where the author basically endorses rabid internet-based medical self-diagnosis. In a world where people will hear a thing about vaccines on the internet and then "echo chamber" the lies they've read to all their friends, can you really excuse the author for condoning similar behavior? Then again, those sort of people don't really read books, do they?
