The way this book switched perspectives mid-chapter and even mid-paragraph (sometimes even mid-sentence), made it very difficult to follow what was going on at points, especially when these perspectives were often geographically and thematically separated.

Also, it's a minor point, but I found it very hard to picture our main characters.  At first I thought they were anthropomorphised animals, but then it suggested they were humans of different clans?
