Critically important message about trans identity. I felt fondly towards the protagonist and many side-characters, and the story was engaging. Main issue is that it felt almost half-finished, like the book could have been twice as long. I'm curious to read the next books in the series to see if that helps! I was left craving more of this universe and its characters.
