If I Fall, If I Die by Michael Christie

4.0

This one shines so brightly. A mother terrified to go Outside, terrified for her son to because there are dangers there, coming to understand her world relies on his fearlessness. I loved this mother and son relationship, even during insolent phases -- especially, perhaps. It is when they quibble, before we remember their condition, they are the most normal and so, so warm to one another.
