I enjoy Silveras concept of deathcast. After reading the first two books, I must say that this one did resonate the least for me. The story often leans into melodrama. The relationship between Alano and Paz, for example, felt a bit too heightened and emotionally packed for its own good. Their connection developed in a way that sometimes came off as forced or overly cinematic, which made it harder to fully buy into the realism of their bond.
There were also a few moments in the plot that felt conveniently timed or overly coincidental, which slightly undercut the depth of the narrative.
I’m curious to see what the author will tell in its sequel.
