We open up with a woman in her early 30s in the back of a cop car, arrested moments earlier. She was found on the floor of her bathroom covered in blood and holding a straight razor. Behind her lies her husband, dead. She must prove her innocence and evade the blackmailer who has been sending her letters from prison. For this blackmailer threatens to expose her deepest secrets. Has she murdered her husband? And does she have even more to hide?

As far as thrillers go, this one was on the better end for me personally. Some of the characters were infuriating but the main character and their relationship with others made up for the others. The plot was interesting and I liked how it moved along.

I do wish that the book was not split into two POVs and found that the second POV was a bit of an unnecessary character. We could’ve erased him from the story and it still would’ve read well, perhaps even better.

Thank you @raincoastbooks for the copy in exchange for an honest review, 3✨. And thank you @cozyinthenook for powering through another thriller with me, challenging my views on dialogue and messaging throughout! Can’t wait for our next!
