Belle: Beast Hunter #1 by Dave Franchini, Bong Dazo, Juan Rodriguez

2.0

This was an interesting take on Belle - By making her a part of a long line of monster hunters, it sets this story up to be different already.

It's set within the Grimm Universe, that as far as I know deals with other supernaturals and well known folklore from the Grimm's fairy tales so this seems to fit in just fine but this issue starts you in the middle of an action scene and leads into some quips and another fight before ending with a cliffhanger so it feels like maybe I missed something or if this was done on purpose to garner attention. The artwork is pretty for sure and I do love that this heroine is definitely more clothed than the norm, reminded me of DC's Batwoman. As usually the first issue to anything, it's to early to see where this is headed so I'll wait and see if this will be another BatB to fall in love with and collect.
