I have been meaning to read this for a long time and I'm glad I finally did although it is extremely dark and depressing read. I have not been able to stop thinking about the book since I finished. It was well ahead of it's time when written and is probably more relevant today than ever before. History has a way of repeating itself and we need to heed Orwell's warning or we risk having our freedoms slowly eroded away. The concept of Newspeak is absolutely terrifying to me; but sadly something I had never even considered before reading. 10/10 recommend this and believe it should be mandatory reading for everyone.
