Filthy Hot by Serena Akeroyd

5.0

Filthy Hot is book #5 in the Five Points' Mob series; this book is Aidan O'Donnelly Jr.'s story. From book #1 Filthy up until this book, Aidan Jr. was featured in each book; building up to his book. As the eldest son, a lot is expected from Aidan. Because one day he's going to take his father's place, to be the leader/head of the Five Points'. But because of his health, Aidan hasn't been picking up his workload. His brothers have been helping/covering for him. Please keep in mind, there are certain triggers and disturbing situations hence, it might be unsettling for some readers to read. Each book gets better and better! And I can't decide which one is my favorite! The flow of the storylines and chain of events linking to each brother differently is so well executed!! Especially, when all the plot twists started intertwining with each other. And, I'm scared yet curious when all the secrets are brought to light in the next book "Filthy Secrets".

Our heroine, Savannah is a journalist; her exposés reveal secrets that were meant to stay hidden. She lives for the thrill of hunting for a good story, and she will go to any means necessary in getting one, even risking her life to do so. There are some characters, where you'll automatically love from the very first page or as soon as you read their POV. For me, it happened with Savannah, she's a brilliant character!! And I absolutely loved reading her internal dialogues. She's fearless, career driven, passionate, quirky, honest and daring; she pushes invisible boundaries to get the truth. And she's fascinated with the criminal/underworld, hence her curiosity with Aidan; she's attracted to him. My gosh! The banter between them! Loved every second of it!! Savannah wasn't afraid of going toe-to-toe with Aidan! Her witty remarks cracked me up!! And Aidan is so charismatic! He has a soft spot for his brothers as well as Savannah.

Savannah was the "one who got away", or more like he pushed her way; ghosting and avoiding her at all costs. Despite this, it didn't stop him from watching her from afar. He wants her, but Aidan doesn't want to pull her into his world; thinking that he doesn't deserve her. And just like his brothers, you wouldn't want to be on opposing sides or double cross him. After all, he's an O'Donnelly. The first few chapters begin in the present, however, it leads back to the past to Aidan and Savannah's first encounter. Their chemistry is through the roof!! Savannah sure did push Aidan's buttons! Loved seeing bits of pieces of The Oath duet in this book!! And I couldn't believe that I laughed out loud so hard when I read this book! I mean, the O'Donnelly dialogues with each other in general are downright hilarious, but this book took it to another level!

Five years ago, Aiden and Savannah crossed paths. Savannah was digging up information about Aidan's family (the Five Points') when she shouldn't have. Because of her actions, Savannah managed to get the Five Points' attention or more like Aidan Snr.'s attention. And basically, they wanted to "silence/handle her", so they sent Aidan Jr. in to handle the situation.  Back to the present time, Savannah is in trouble once again; her life is in danger. With nowhere to turn to she *literally* fell into Aidan's path once again.
