I’ll give this book one thing - it’s the first one with such atrocious writing that I actually picked up a pen to start jotting down my reactions.
Wishy washy characters, no character development, abysmal pacing, and world building with holes like Swiss cheese. Countless paragraphs of statement after statement of how a character is feeling instead of actually writing the scenes that show it - it was like reading the sparknotes version of what could have been a good book.
Extremely lazy writing relying on convenience and cliches.
The dialogue was so bad I almost wished the author went back to just stating for the reader how a character is feeling instead of showing it through action and dialogue the way good writing is supposed to.
One star for an interesting premise and a half star for pissing me off so much I started to take notes.
