Wait for You by Jennifer L. Armentrout

3.4 stars. This was a difficult book to enjoy for me. The story is based on a young woman's difficulty dealing with her past and how it is effecting her present. Something horrible happened when she was just 14 and it left her shattered. It is worse than just the event. The people who should have been there, the support she should have had were all absent. She was bullied, humiliated and isolated from hope. She never recovered never moved past it, she cowered behind it. She could stay in her box of pain and self loathing, except she meets somebody who she wants to be more for. He is wonderfully open, flirty, sexy and wants to have something with her. The painful reality of a relationship here is bittersweet.
Reading this story I was irritated by her constant sabotage to her own happiness. It was conflicting and painful, I understood her why's, but I wanted her to be more. I wanted some super human response not a realistic one. This story could be any of us, this could be my daughter, my friend.. : ( I'm just not good at these realistic heartbreaking stories. My heart hurt and I don't enjoy that. It was well written, I love this authors work just not this story.
