A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams
5.0

i really enjoyed the previous books in this serie, but nothing could have prepared me for how much i would LOVE a very merry bromance!!

to be honest, i did not remember who anyone was besides vlad (but how could anyone forget about him??), and i did not remember about the previous storylines either besides a few details here and there lmao. anyway, the two MCs were relatable and lovable, the plot was interesting, and the pacing was great. everything went to the perfect speed, there is no scene that feels wasted (the part were the men are wrapping presents should be part of the mandatory readings for any future boyfriend of mine) and it was truly everything i needed. it's my favorite read of december, thank you so much!!

i also enjoyed how meta the book was getting (which i think is something that they were already doing in the previous novels if i remember correctly) with the sunshine/grumpy romance and the other discussions on tropes... it was super funny to me and it kind of makes me want to find the tropes that i encounter IRL now ahah...

i was scared about the third-act break-up because i didn't know what could go wrong especially when they had both been upfront about why they stayed talking again. the only thing i have to say is fuck her family, fuck evan. i, too, was hoping jack would reveal that he is her father because her parents really suck.

furthermore, the whole friends becoming family is cliché, yet it still got me. i was happy to see théa again because i remember feeling disappointed that she and gavin were not featured as much in the other books. vlad remains my favorite character.

i have nothing negative to say about this book, the only disappointment is that lyssa key adams has not published anything since then and it's a CRIME. i need more books like these!!
