The author’s note at the end starts by saying “book twos in trilogies are notoriously hard.” Well congratulations Saara because you have managed to do what I had previously thought impossible and written a book two that was more gripping and exciting while actually building up to the end of a trilogy than I have ever read before. Rather than a lull, this book is constant excitement with a seamless introduction of new major characters and fantastic development of old ones. I’m glad we got Furi’s perspective in this, it added a lot. I kind of wish we would have gotten Rayan’s as well but I don’t know that he would have added anything. The betrayals, the prophecies, the nomads, the rebellions, all of this adds up to what I am sure will be a very explosive book 3 that I can’t wait to read.
