Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
5.0

Wow, I had a HUGE change of perspective from the last book to this one. In the first book [bc:Unearthly|7488244|Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)|Cynthia Hand|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1324782984s/7488244.jpg|9621771] (which I super recommend) We focus more on completing Clara completing her purpose and her relationship with Tucker. In Hallowed it's more about the aftermath of that day, The Black Wing, and just getting to know about angels more. So go read it if you haven't and come back later to discuss!!! BYE!

SPOILER filled rants!

Okay, so we get to know Christian a lot more in this book. Which made me like him more because in the last book, Clara was kind of in a love triangle with Tucker (normal boy) and Christian (boy in dreams), But Christian goes to New York half way into the book so we didn't get to know him much. Thus, I was rooting for Tucker 100%. This is where things started changing. Since Christian is part-angel now, we see a lot more of him in this book. And he's not that bad... okay he's not bad at all. It's actually really hard to hate him. I feel like I'm cheating on Tucker... cause I was hating on Christian in the other book, but he's a good guy. I feel bad for Tucker. He's the most perfect, datable real guy, okay he's still to good/hot to be real. But you know, he's normal, as in not a supernatural creature. Clara and Christian belong together and they're going to Stanford, I get that, but poor Tucker. I can have him?

There was the whole thing with her mom in this book too. Didn't that break your heart. But at the same time, I liked that idea. That all angels have a 120 year time-limit so they can't live forever forever, but still have a good life. Her visions about that gave me a heart attack. I didn't want Tucker or her mom to die. I was hoping it was a trick or something. Her mom was brave and took it pretty well though, and her husband came back to say one last good-bye. Awww. Fairytale ending for her. And when we discovered they weren't really divorced, that was icing on top of the cake.

On to Jeffery. I thought something was wrong in this book because in the last one he was quiet(-ish) brother. Now he was being awfully mean and crabby at some points. But now that I know he was supposes to save Tucker. O___O WOOHH! he was supposes to save Tucker, not Clara. So he really did fail or did he? because Tucker's alive, so problem solved...maybe. I get why he's mad a Clara because she was stealing the stoplight, but that's not an excuse! Jeffery still could have told them about his purpose. They are a loving family, they would have helped you out Jeff. Just speak up! Also, him and the fire starting. Jeffery is going bad! I don't know how long Cynthia is going to keep that a secret because it's obvious. His wings are gray and he started a fudging fire! SOMETHING IS UP!

Triplare. 3/4 angel. I'm glad that came up because I was wondering. What if a Dimidius and Quartarius have a kid. is it like 3/8 angel? This is turning into very hard math...anyways. Clara, Jeffery Triplare! And when Clara tells Christian, he's all like "ME TOO!" I just thought that was too convenient. And here Angela thought she was the strongest, but really, she was the weakest. I think I'm supposes to feel bad for her, but I just don't. I always thought she felt like she was a little better then the others, so when this was relieved, I felt smug that Angela got put down. this is making me sound evil, but i never liked Angela. Wendy was funner and just seem like a overall better friend.

So, to wrap it up. I loved this book but not as much as the first. Angel thing was a little cheesier in this one and my feeling on characters changed. Believe me, I still want to jump Tucker but Christian is totally hugable. Looking forward to the next book.
