It still stands that I either completely love or completely hate Neal Stephenson books. This was definitely the latter. Wtf did I just read? The main character read like a manic pixie dream girl and there seemed to be no plot really? It barely felt like a Neal Stephenson book except there was an occasional attack of scientific details and sometimes there was a clever sentence or two that was a joy to read.
