This book has to be one of the oddest stories I have ever read. It is almost a conglomeration of a huge portion of dystopian novels to date; 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, and even the likes of Altered Carbon. This book felt loooooong, but in the end, the ending was the best part - it just felt like a journey to reach it.

My biggest qualms with the book and author (in this story particularly) are the very obvious misogynistic, stereotypical, and racist (racial slurs) view points that he carries. Maybe I didn’t see it as much in the Metro series as it took place in Russia and was very lonesome in its writing, but it seemed very obvious in this story. On a less serious note, the editing (from Russian to English) is less than perfect. It is as though they used Google translate and then briefly fixed the first 50 pages of 600. By the end, it is downright awful (with full Russian words displayed with no English translation). I know the translation of Metro 2033 was much better than 2035, and both 2035 and FUTU.RE were translated by Andrew Bromfield - so it seems common place between the two.
