It's official Nnedi Okorafor is my favourite African fantasy/ sci-fi writer.
I started Binti simply because of the first line and as usual Nnedi showed me that stories like Guardians of the galaxies and others can also happen with African characters.
Binti started off with the main character with the same name as the book, running off in the middle of the night to chase her dreams of going to the top of the top universities in the galaxies.
What she didn't plan for was to watch her crush die, have a hair change, loose her connect with her people and unlock an almost forgotten device.
