When I say it has taken me months to finally decide to put this series away for good… I mean MONTHS. I did like that the beginning of this book was go go go. But I didn’t like the witch court, and that lore drop the Blood Letter gave was just so much information in one go. I still don’t even fully understand Grace’s powers in regards to time and I actually think they’re stupidly unnecessary.
When they were captured and Grace and Hudson figured out someone in their group was spilling secrets to Cyrus, obviously it was Flynt. He has been pissing me off this whole book and yes, your boyfriend died and you lost your leg and he hasn’t had any time to grief either of those things, so it’s fair that he is pissed off at the world. But there are bigger things going on rn that he needs to get over it. I literally don’t even know who Liam is, a member of the order?? Also, no one cares about the order at this point it was a high school clique. Speaking of the order, (narrator) changed Mekki’s name? He’s now Mekai? Or is it a different person? Who knows.
It took me three books to figure out why they were so long, even though I like the pacing and the information that was provided, in covet I really thought it should have been divided into two completely separate books. In court, I’m finding there to be a lot of unnecessary dialogue.
I didn’t like how unnecessarily complicated this book was getting. grace being the great granddaughter of a God, Graces ability to time stop, Cyrus‘s power being linked to the frozen gargoyle court based on poison?? the gargoyle court being frozen to begin with. The Irish accents are absolutely atrocious and Remy and Caulder’s random appearance really threw me.
I thought I could do it, for Hudson, but I just can’t anymore. If someone tells me to get back into it because the last few books are worth it, ok I’ll consider it. If this series ever gets a tv adaptation, I will also 100% watch it just for the absolute wild time. As of right now, I am done with Tracy Wolff.
