The Sword and the Sunflower by Mark Bradford, Mark Bradford
4.0
A wild book. I felt at times I had entered into a dream like state and a future people had shown me visions of their beginnings.
Without giving any spoilers, Stojan comes upon Anastazja, a young girl after her dad has died. Being a father who lost a daughter, Stojan's heart softens towards Ana and he chooses to take her with him on the run vs leave her alone for robbers and pillagers to get to.
Their adventures include sword training, shamans, saints, visions, naming ceremonies by an awesome tribe, found family, secrets & betrayal, healing and life changing decisions.
Fox is a side character you will meet, he burns bright and quick and will leave a lasting impression on you.
I enjoyed this book a lot and it's absolute uniqueness. It's 395 pages, but written with lots of space between paragraphs, so it read super quick and I flew through it!
