Smartasses: A Sexy Nerd Rom Com Anthology was a collection featuring twelve short stories. Just about every romance trope was featured and there was plenty of spice to go around.
Some of my favorites:
"Not Just a Crush" by Helena Hunting- a woman arrived at a mountain cabin to spend a girls' weekend with her friends, but the weather had other plans.
"Central Park" by Jana Aston- a brand new nanny arrived at her first job to find out that the man she was supposed to work for had no children.
"The Runaway Bride" by Sonali Dev- a bride to be got cold feet the night before her wedding after overhearing that her fiancé met up with his ex.
"Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind" by Susannah Nix- a shy, nerdy tech CEO asked the waitress at the diner he frequents to be his fake girlfriend for a family function.
The stories were hit and miss for me. Some I really enjoyed, some were meh, and a couple I DNFed. I had not read a compilation of short stories in a very long time. I enjoyed being able to read a complete story and not "one more chapter" myself all night. The anthology allowed for easy breaks from reading and offered more stories ahead if I wanted to continue.
