Read this amongst withdrawal symptoms following Kpop Demon Hunters and WOW, it's such a delight - definitely did not disappoint. The enemies to lovers (a trope which I vehemently despise) was written so well, and the flow to lovers was gradual and took its time (but not too long!). I instantly purchased the second book on Kobo and cannot wait to read the second book.

My only gripe with this book is the lack of description - Sophie Kim neglected to illustrate or describe many of the fantastical creatures and the supernatural in her book, which meant more than one visit to wikipedia to help define and imagine things. I would have loved a glossary or descriptions of each supernatural creature, but apart from that, this book was wildly entertaining and totally deserve a k-drama or anime adaptation.

On to the next book! And Sophie Kim is now a definite must-read author for me.
