satanicpuppy 's review for:
Infinite Jest
by David Foster Wallace
I really liked this book, but it broke me of ever reading postmodern (post-postmodern?) lit ever again.
It is a beautiful book about nothing. It is a work of incredible talent and erudition bent around a meaningless nothing-burger with (or possibly without) sprouts.
I read it long and long ago, and it stuck in my brain like a splinter, but there is nothing to it. You will learn nothing, you will probably feel nothing. Most of the characters are unlikable, most of the situations are unbelievable.
It's beautiful though.
