Typical N.S. Novel - a nice predictable story all wrapped in a bow. I am not saying it was bad, not by any means.
Julie lived a rough life and was helped by an 'angel' whom she eventually married. Too soon after he passed away but left her with a Great Dane name Singer. He literally stole the show. You know from page 1 that he is the Gaurdian and is somehow connected to her husband Jim.
Julie is finally ready to get in with her life and start dating. Mike, Jim's best friend has become her best friend as well, and he silently is I love with her. It appears it is too late to admit his feelings when she starts dating Richard. Something is off with Richard, that is pretty clear from their first meeting.
You can sense the rest. It's a sad-happy ending.
