Ain't He Precious? by Juliette Poe, Sawyer Bennett

4 1/2 stars.

I am a huge fan of well-done conversational writing. It’s a style, when done right, guides you through an entire novel before you know it. Ain’t He Precious? by Juliette Poe is just that kind of book.

The love story between Trixie and Ryland is charming all on its own because Trixie and Ryland have chemistry and are just so totally likeable that from the moment they’re together in a scene you are 100% rooting for them. Once you throw in the character that is the town of Whynot, North Carolina with the characters who populate Whynot you have fun.

Another thing that made me really enjoy Ain’t He Precious? is that although it was romantic and charming, it felt real. I especially loved the realization that hit Trixie and Ryland simultaneously regarding what the most important thing in their lives should be.

If you need some Southern fried charm with a healthy dose of sweet tea laced with peach moonshine, try Ain’t He Precious?–it’s like a funny sweet vacation without having to go anywhere at all.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
