At this point, I'd sell my soul for anything Carissa Broadbent writes! She is 100% my most favorite romantasy author and I just cannot get enough! Of this world, her writing, her characters, the trauma she undoubtedly leaves me with! Erase everything you thought this book would be, you cant even dream of what Carissa has in store for you on Mische's journey. The brilliance, the beauty, the healing, the acceptance, the heartache, the "WTF JUST HAPPENED," I guarantee you won't be the same after this read.
I love how with every book added to this series, we get to see more and more of the White Pantheon gods. It doesn't just centre around Nyaxia, but rather connects her backstory to every other god in this world. I thought Slaying The Vampire Conqueror had some heavy religious-cult vibes but wow, nothing compares to Atroxus and his followers (I might even like Nyaxia a little more compared to him). I think Atroxus is a really despicable god but you have to read it to find out why! I adored the worldbuilding in this book. The Descent and the whole five levels before reaching the underworld? Amazing. I loved every action-packed scene within the world of the dead and honestly, you could totally make a psychological horror out of the events that took place down there!
Asar is absolutely bloody amazing. He is so tortured, has an insane reputation, comes off super broody but what a beautiful soul! He is everything that Mische deserves. Mische is amazing, she's such a strong character and I knew she had a terrible past but I could never have imagined just how bad it is. I love that she found beauty in the underworld, I felt like that was the perfect representation of what a different kind of character she is! The ending blew me away and I dont think I'll ever recover!!
