After hearing lots of people talk about this book, I decided to give it a chance as I got curious about THE book that might have inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula. And I was pleasantly surprised! It is rather slow-paced, but the story unfolds nicely, and you'll wish it was much longer.

Carmilla is such an intriguing character, and the clear tension between her and the protagonist made my heart race at every interaction. You can't know what comes next, and it keeps you at the edge of your seat.
