The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

5.0

My first ever 5 star because this is just fantastic work. I've heard and seen so many people talk about "connecting to characters" or caring for them and i never really had that and now i realise why. THE BOOKS WEREN'T THIS GOOD. My god at some point i just wanted to jump into the book and murder Anna myself for being such a bitch to Rachel. I was so frustrated for her, and with her, wanting her to remember what happened and save herself more than anyone.
And the killer? Wow. Let me tell you, I've had my fair share of unexpected killers (dark places I'm looking at you) but this was the most well thought out and well developed. I especially like how things add up slowly later, instead of just a random motive we had no idea about ( again, fucking dark places). I had so many suspects but the actual killer made sense.
A must read in my opinion. Although I'm kind of afraid of picking up another paula hawkins now because it might not live up to this, but i do have a lot options from other female thriller writers.
Love it!
