A writer inherits a plot of land in the Domican Republic from her father and decides to build a cemetery to house the stories she's never been able to finish. The stories, however, don't stay silent. A groundskeeper is the first to listen to them. As they unfold, threads of each start to connect with the past and present, across characters. Beautifully written and structured, with humor and empathy spread throughout. This book explores whose stories get told, what happens when they are(n't) and the power of listening. Compelling storytelling.
