Fish Soup by Margarita García Robayo

3.0

Was really excited to delve into my first piece of writing by Robayo. This collection is comprised of two novellas and a short story collection. The first novella I didn't love but I found the setting and the writing enjoyable. The short stories were a lot better and I would have given that mini-collection four stars if I was rating it on it's own. The second novella was great as well and I loved how it explored the ideas of sexuality and friendship with a coming-of-age edge to it.

I'm excited to read more from her because her stories are really atmospheric and she has a really sinister edge to everything that she writes about. Her stories at their core are about people and the relationships people have with each other, even though the majority of the time they are quite strange and unhealthy.
