Godkiller is not a bad book. But it's not great, either. While the world presented is intriguing, there was a lot of build up, multiple PoVs that don't make much sense in the beginning and the action was at the last 50 to maybe a 100 pages.
The rest felt like a rather long travel blog by our merry band of four. And while I did like the character growth of our main characters (there was such, despite some reviews), it was mostly for Inara and Skediceth.
I also enjoyed the portrayal of PTSD from the war in Elogast. For Kissen, we were mostly told how badass she is, rather than shown, but I attribute that to the lack of substantial action in most of the book.
Based on the blurb, though, I expected more of Kissen. It's not necessarily a bad thing that the book relies on multiple PoVs, but it felt confusing in the beginning.
Overall, I enjoyed my time with Godkiller and I am intrigued to continue reading and hopefully find answers to my questions and theories.
