A Single Man
by Christopher Isherwood
I am late to the party on Christopher Isherwood despite one of my favorite musicals (Cabaret) being based on his writings. I am also aware that in 2024, I'm not adding anything new to the discourse, but nonetheless I am blown away by his deep understanding and of what it is to be a human being, queer, depressed in a rut of a life yet terrified of running out of time with it. I'm so glad I started pride month with this read.
