This book had me internally screaming and blushing. The tension between Avirin and Pye was sizzling, and the smutty scenes were top-notch. Avirin is a fascinatingly complex character, and Pye is an attentive sweetheart with endless patience.
This story was definitely unique. It has a nontraditional HEA, as Avirin and Pye have an open relationship. An aspect of their relationship is that they openly discuss their sexual encounters with other people, and when they choose to involve others, Avirin and Pye are still very much focused on each other.
They way they communicate made this a nice portrayal of ethical non-monogamy.
Because I'm not always paying attention, I missed that this was actually the second part of a duet. However, the way the story is set up, I could easily understand the events prior, and it didn't affect my reading experience in a negative manner.
