Monday's Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson

5.0

*Potential spoilers ahead*

I have so many words yet not enough words to know where to even begin describing this book. Monday’s Not Coming has me feeling all sorts of fucked up. I laughed, I cried, I thought I was going to be physically ill and at one point I said “what the fuck” so loud at 2 am that I woke up my dog.

I originally rated it four stars but am changing it to five because it has become part of my Roman Empire and I cannot stop thinking about it.

This book will make you experience the whole gamut of emotions and had me so enraged at one point that had I not been reading this on my phone via KU I would have YEETED the book across my apartment. (Page 390-391 to be exact).

Halfway through the book it made me think of the Riyla Wilson case, and I should have known it was all going down hill from there. I think Monday’s Not Coming should be required reading for anyone entering into and working in the child welfare system, as well as anyone who doesn’t believe how incredibly broken our current system is.
