A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult

5.0

In this amazing novel by Jodi Picoult, we see the side of a tricky subject abortion and woman's rights. I am pro-choice and so is Jodi Picoult. But in this book, Picoult looks at all sides of abortion from the illegal use to legal abortion to undercover anti-choice. It even shows a crisis clinic aka a fake clinic that only goal is to miss inform. It is a gripping novel that saddens me that it had to end.

In this book, `like all Picoult books, is told from multiple perspectives. Some perspectives include Beth who took care on her abortion her own and now faces legal troubles, George, the gunman who has revenge set for the clinic, Joy who had a legal abortion, and Izzy a nurse who works at the clinic.

Told in reverse time it does get tedious in the repeat information but I found out that to be a problem for me. In fact, the way Picoult weaves this tale it worked very well and I enjoyed every word of this book.

I git this book 40% off at Barnes & Noble (thank you for hat additional 10& off since I am a member.) And in the book has an interview out with the author. It is very much worth the read to look at the real cost of lack of providing abortion to a woman. If you're on the side of anti-choice read it. Read the book again and understand that sometimes the best choice is an abortion. And also know that clinics that exist provide more than a abortion, as seen in this book.

Overall top mark I got from this book from the excellent way Picoult takes each perspective and breathes life into each character. She also made one see all sides of the issue. The books story line was reasonable and interesting as well as thought-provoking. The only thing I wished was that more of a conclusion especially with Beth.
