This book is the silly brother of Cloud Atlas. The story was far too convoluted and I hated it. I can see how others loved it but it is not for me at all. I found myself dreading reading this and rushing through because I disliked it so much. For me, the plot was interesting but so much of it was buried under details or not fully developed. There were so many parts where I was just bored out of my mind trudging through inane details.
