Cherry Cheesecake Murder
by Joanne Fluke
This one was slightly unique in that the murder didn't actually happen until more than halfway through the book. But the very first chapter was that character's death, from his POV. Other than that, it was business as usual. Hannah thinks she's incredibly clever and everyone else is a moron. She makes silly, inane comments that are supposed to be extremely clever. But they're probably only clever to a middle schooler. That drives me crazy more than anything about this series. Also, it reads like the author writing her personal fantasy fiction. I mean, a super nosy cookie baker who's usually described as chubby and in this book, she has THREE men chasing after her? Not to mention the director, though it seems he can hardly count since he hits on anything that moves.
