quinn_zubrin 's review for:
Seven Deadly Wonders
by Matthew Reilly
I'm not sure why I finished this book. I guess, trying to be fair, I did want to see how it turned out. But this author writes like he was paid by the word and also as if Dan Brown was his literary idol.
I will say that he does do a great job writing action scenes, of which there are many in this book. Unfortunately, it feels like someone did a novelisation of a popular big explosions Hollywood blockbuster, and that just isn't what I look for in a book. The premise was thin and gets stretched even more thinly with each new Wonder they have to find and excise.
I give it one star but I think this book just isn't for me and so I'm trying to be charitable.
