Unequal Affections: A Pride and Prejudice Retelling
by Lara S. Ormiston
My mother absolutely adores this book and I got it on her recommendation. She's WAY more of an Austenite than me, which might be why she loves it and I was kind of like "well, that was a book."
It's an interesting retell, definitely, with a great deal of thought put into how the two develop against each other (rather than in each other's absence, as in the original). Some of the scenes are really delightful and the author treats the source material lovingly. Possibly I wasn't in the right frame of mind reading it.
