As always, despite intentionally going into his works with as few expectations as possible, McEwan still manages to shatter any that I had.
The perspective of this novel is unquestionably strange, and truth be told I’ve struggled to grasp the underlying meaning of it on this occasion, but I still had an enjoyable experience reading it!
I’ve never read anything like it before, and though I could have done without the foetal narrative of sex, I found the story fascinating.
