An Immoveable Solitude by S.A. McAuley

3.5*
One of those roller coaster rides, in a couple of ways.
Firstly there is much drama with Hash and Kerry and their relationship over the years.
There are emotional highs and lows.
Then there is my up and down feelings about the characters - Kerry in particular is a mystery and I still feel I don’t know fully what he was about - we got a reason but....
There is quite a lot of action from shark diving to ocean yachting to Thai islands to tsunami to the Cape again.
I did think there was a lot of juvenile storming off by both men as well as the woe is me. The exception I thought was Kerry in
Spoilerthe tsunami aftermath - I thought his actions in staying were true to character

It is mostly in Hash’s first person pov so that may have accounted for my disquiet with Kerry and it is often not a favourite pov but in this case, the story moved along at a quick pace and I was certainly pulled into the emotions.
